Most essential oils are considered too strong to use during pregnancy because they may lead to bleeding or cross the placental barrier (especially when applied on the skin) and harm the fetus. However, there are a few essential oils considered safe for use during prenatal massages or through a diffuser.

Please consult your doctor or Gynecologist before using an essential oil if you are pregnant or a nursing mother.

There are currently no universal agreements or rules for use of essential oils on or around children. The common view is that because infants and children have thinner skin and less developed livers and immune systems, they are more vulnerable to potential toxicity from essential oil use.

However, there are essential oils and blends that are safe for children under certain ages. Check out our children-friendly oils here
